I waited so long to review this because didn't know how to put how I felt about this book in words and to be honest I still kind of don't. I will say that I absolutely loved it and it will stick with me for a very long time.

I'm going to keep this incredibly short so I don't accidentally spoil anything. But this is my favorite book that I've read in a very long time. I really enjoyed both the human aspect and the haunted House story in equal measure and that's very rare. I highly recommend this.

I really wanted to enjoy this connection because I loved a short story of hers but it just didn't connect with me and I really struggled to finish it. I think I'm just not the type of person who likes the slice of life type short stories that don't go anywhere.

I wanted to like this book a lot more than I did because on paper it seems like it would be right up my alley but I felt like it dragged a bit and I never really got completely immersed in the story. Your mileage may vary.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. In fact, it is one of the books that, although a movie would never do it complete justice, I would love to see developed into something for the big or small screen. The authors way of writing made you feel like you were there and feeling all of the things that the main character Ana was going through, and although it might be trite to say, the city was such a part of the story that it was like it was a character itself. I definitely would recommend this to anyone who enjoys Jewish stories about NYC and horror.
