It's a matter of taste but this narration just wasn't for me. It was breathy and the 'male voices' were forced and to nasal for me. I hope to read the ebook someday 'cus I like the idea of the story and love JLA's work. But I sadly could not continu listening to this 😕
First of all I want to say that I finished this book in one day so I enjoyed it. The storyline felt fresh and original. But some things just bugged me that made me give less stars. Maybe it's because I'm more used to slow burns but there would sometimes be these intense emotions and thoughts about something and the next page it would suddenly be the opposite with little convincing.. And she was sometimes surprised or says she was kot expecting something when her thoughts were only adding up to the same conclusion... I could not get passed that. Otherwise I'm sure it would've been at least 4 stars for me. But I do certainly recommend reading it 🤗 I might just be to fussy 🙈
Okay so first... What? A phoenix-goose love story resulted in a ''living'' pillow, that I can live with honestly.
But a virgin, germophobe that while getting her cherry popped by a human pillow doll not only loves DP but craves it?! Too much too fast 'my sweet..' 🫠
It started out funny but the language used during the spicy scenes and other things just made it totally cringe for me.
I loved the door romance so I like weird stuff as much as the next girl but this uhh makes me want to throw away all my pillows which is not cool 'cus I love my pillowforts! 🥲
Totally recommend tho. You need to read this tbh if only to experience the wonderous levels of cringe 🤷🏻♀️🤓

I WOULD GIVE SO MUCH MORE IF I COULD! 😍 This is my second series by Harper after Of Flesh and Bone. And I've come to learn to not trust my gut 'cus I'm always wrong. I love how the plot always twists and turns. 🤓 And oh dear the spice.. yesss I'm here for ittttttt. There's a lot of it and all of it was finger licking goooood. IYKYK. 😄❤️

I'd give more if I could tbh. The spice was so so good. I wish we got more even though there was a lot. 😂 That's just me being greedy tbh. Loved how the plot went too, did not see that coming. Already pre-ordered The Kill. I'm not letting this pack go ❤️
Man this went so many ways. A few times I thought I knew what was going to happen, changed my mind a few times along the way. So it kept me on my toes. Loved how it all played out in the end. Another awesome read from Reece Barden ❤️🤓
Loved another wonderful story from S.L.Prater ❤️ Gaslamp romance wasn't my genre until I discovered this series and now I'm in love with it. I was rooting for Malcolm and Hrafen from the start, loved the humor in it and omg the shadow babies! 🥰
The romance or spice didn't really kick in until the last 1/3 of the book but I didn't care and hardly noticed it while reading tbh. I got sucked in to the story straight away. There's so much plot going on that just swerves in different directions throughout the book. Really well done. Normally I'm not a big fan of inner dialogues but again here I didn't mind at all 🤓 Really enjoyed this book and definitely will be reading more from this writer 🥰
