Did not finish book. Stopped at 45%.
I'm like halfway and still feeling "meh" about it

I'm really liking short stories lately, they're like snap shots of a different world. I like that not everything is explained, and my imagination is left to explore the world after.

This is most definitely the most monster-y monster romance I've ever read. Yay for actually scary monsters!

Do avoid it if you have a severe fear of spiders.

The end of this was really, really good.. but the first 70% of the book was "meh". It took me almost a month to finish this book, which is super long got me. I kept getting bored and putting it down.

The last 25% was great, and I'm really happy with how the story went (and ended).

Still hoping for a spin off with Ryatt of course.

Lots of great suggestions and ideas, as an unschooler who's moving to a more structured approach for one of our kids (their choice), this is such a good bridging approach!

Very "meh". They throw a plot in there somewhere, but I have no interest in it. Didn't realize this would be a cliffhanger sort of ending but I have no interest in listening to book two

This was way better than it had any right to be. Of course it isn't a literary masterpiece! That's not what I mean. I mean it was super fun, it kept me engaged and I loved it so much I finished it in a day and a half.

If you're looking for a fun, spicy, alien romance. Try this one!

Every star possible here, it's amazing.

I delayed reading this book because I am so often let down by hyped books. I regret waiting to read this one.

Holy shit. What a ride. The characters are amazing, the world is terrifying, the relationships are beautiful. Wow. Wow. Wow.

I don't know what to say without spoiling anything. But it felt like the love child of A Court of Thorns and Roses by SJM, and Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff. Which sounds like a weird pairing tone wise, but I love both of those series.. so, it's a lovechild I am so happy to see.

Oof. I read this because it's my dear friend's favourite book, and I gotta say.. I hated it. The narration style is absolutely terrible 😬. I couldn't do anything more but skim it for spots she had underlined.

I found it had a lot of the same principles as The Voice of Knowledge by Ruiz, but was not as compulsively readable.
