I, for want of a better word, enjoyed this book. It's a heavy read and I'm not 100% I fully understood what I was supposed to take away from it but I was very intrigued and absorbed the entire time.

I wish I could give this more than 5 stars honestly. Full body chills multiple times, attics are even more scary now and there are moments of this I will never forget.

I really hope we see more from Marcus Kliewer because this was fantastic!

I don't read a lot of classics. I keep thinking I want to and this seemed like a good one to read around Halloween. Unfortunately, this has put me off reading others.

Way too much description and explanation and very little action. Boring. Literally nothing happened. Nothing.

In future I'll stick to the Burton film. Much more exciting and an actual storyline.
