The internet has failed me with this recommendation. Was waiting for some element of mystery but it was just romance and gore. Kinda skipped some stuff to finish this one. Not great horror, not great romance. Timeline didn’t really make sense. There’s so much better “serial killer” content out there tbh

I randomly clicked on this when Spotify recommended it to me and immediately recognized the voice of Haley James Scott from one tree hill! I wasn’t aware of anything about her personal life, but I was immediately sucked into this book. What a great read and an amazing reading (please listen to the audiobook, read by the author). A great memoir about faith in spite of everything, even a cult that uses that very faith to break down and take advantage of people.
My only note is that I don’t really like the title. It’s catchy but doesn’t quite fit. Hopefully it gets buzz, but I think they could’ve come up with a better title!
