The characters and humor were nice, but the book was so short that I feel like I needed more time to actually feel for the characters.

You can tell this book was writen by a zoologist. The vibrant description of nature and animals made me feel like I was actually in the marsh! paired with a wondrous coming-to-age story and a murder mystery; reading this book was a wonderful experience and I would happily read it again.

The adventure of ten thousand doors.. so magnificent. The places those doors took the characters was absolutely magical and made the book very interesting. I really liked the unraveling of the story from academic text to the revelation as well. The characters were also fun, and so was the writing, though the ”villain” plot was left kind of plain for the most part. Had to also dock some points for the very YA behaviour of the main character that was kinda annoying at times, but taking that she was self-aware made it less boring.

The erotica was good at times but omg the characters were
1. Toxic
2. Annoying
3. Entitled (I mean they are white and rich, except for Alex)
Also not the miscommunication trope. I only rated it higher because I like some of the later books and this is a solid groundwork for them.

I’m usually not into war retellings/stories, but I enjoy occasional mythology and something about this book was just wonderful, I feel like the writing brought so much life into the story and characters.

I loved the themes in this book, spirituality and mind, body and soul, gender and sexuality. The writing was really poetical and I enjoyed it even though I feel like I wanted a clearer plot. I feel like the character navigating through life was not enough for me, because even though the book is beautifly written, I finished it without really feeling anything for any of the characters.

Not bad for the second book: I loved to see how the characters continued their journey, even though one of the deaths seemed so pointless and made just in an attempt to raise emotion. The story was also more slow-paced which I did not enjoy, but the ending made me mostly happy.

It had such an interesting premise, but somehow stayed really flat and kind of childish.

I expected a nice, predictable modern romance where a relatable young woman finds a hot man,but instead got hooked in a historical WW2 romance. Taking that I usually don’t like war-stories, this tugged at my heartstrings and was really wholesome without being too heartbreaking, since it had the other modern plot running alongside it.

This was such a great story. The characters and the setting were so vibrant that I was immediately interested in how the story would develop. I enjoyed how unethical all the characters were, and how smart as well, made it a very enjoyable read to know they would best everyone eventually. Only things I didn’t really like were some parts of the magical part of the worldbuilding: the whole Grisha thing just wasn’t really for me, and some YAness of the story.
