Definitely the type of book everyone should read.
It was an absolute 5 star read for me up until that ending. Such fascinating character arcs and relationships that I feel were left unfinished :(

100% more bizarre and more polyamorous than i was expecting. still one of the most entertaining and intriguing reads this year.

Murdoch has some very fascinating ideas and arguments about the nature of what is nice and good, how we relate it to ourselves and the people around us but her most impressive skill is capturing this foreign (to me) odd British way of life and illustrating it so completely and intricately.

I loved the premise as soon as I heard it and while the romances themselves were slightly generic the four female leads were so engaging and fun, and their friendship/s and personal arcs so real and wholesome it definitely bumped up the rating.

The ending could have been a bit more complete and although it makes sense in the context of their stories, I would have loved to explore more interactions between the four but I'm still definitely putting the sequel on my TBR.
