Great encapsulation of such a specific English lifestyle, before widespread internet connection, further geographic and social isolation and the wandering introspective thought that sprouts in that environment. This book beautifully portrays the main characters depth of emotions: guilt, longing, loneliness.

One problem was that I went into this expecting a bit more of a plot, if you're looking for something like that I recommend The Miseducation of Cameron Post. Pacing was personally not for me it seemed incoherent at some parts but that may be my inexperience with literary fiction.

Overall, excellent prose just a bit hard to get through.
