The collection of Hellblazer comics were brilliant. I've read some modern Hellblazer and loved it, but seeing it with the dark grit that Garth Ennis brought with him made the experience both horrific and equally hard hitting. I was a big fan of all the stories and in fact, the only issue I found weak was the one not written by Ennis. I think that says something.

I think the story is one worth telling. It's incredibly heart-rending as it is a reminder of the good just one person is capable of doing. Magnificent depiction through the art as well.

A strong collection of short stories. I took a break just about mid-way through to space out one half of the stories from the other. I think as a whole I prefer the first half, although that isn't to say the second half of stories in the collection are bad - to the contrary, they're great, although I found their endings lacking.
I do have a saying though that it's better to have a bad ending than a good one. After all, if you liked the story being over, what does that say for the rest of the story?

The art certainly carried because its gorgeous, especially the original 70s comic strip from Scream!
I was very impressed with Black Beth herself. Guts from Berserk and her could be siblings.

In full honesty, I read this book based on the fact I was a big fan of the movie since first watching it some years ago. Now, the differences between the two are interesting, but ultimately, the movie is my definitive version. Although I can admit I enjoy both the movie and story's endings. They have equal appeal to me.

It was genuinely a feeling that each time I picked up this book, like the first one, I couldn't wait to see where the story went next. I plan to read the next installment when I drop by my library to take it out.

Saw it at my local library and thought it was about time to check out Death Note. I was familiar with it of course. I had always imagined I would watch the anime but I'm glad I chose to begin by reading. It's so engrossing. I just hope it carries on this way.

The graphic novel definitely had something to say. The parallel narrative was very well done and told a satisfying story. I enjoyed this one a lot.

It was an enjoyable read but ultimately shallow. Nice twist though.

It's enjoyable and perfectly suited for what I wanted from the story. In fact it did impress me in a number of ways because I hadn't expected the story to be as fun as it was. Clearly the author is skilled. Although I did find that the author explained the character's thoughts and feelings unnecessarily a lot of the times, although that didn't stop me from enjoying the story.
The ending was rushed in all honesty, at least that's how I felt. And in some regards the ending didn't amount to much satisfaction, besides having finished the book and having enjoyed overall the story it told. I think perhaps one serious flaw it had was the simple fact that because it was told during the events of the show, the book was limited to telling a story that could not have long-lasting effects, since it would have otherwise contradicted canon. I understand it, but it is a shame, since it undermined some dramatic tension that otherwise would have made the story all the more exciting.
