Hana-Kimi: For You in Full Blossom, Vol. 14 by David Ury, Hisaya Nakajo

I liked that we got more of Umeda's story in this one. Also, the mutual pining between Sano and Mizuki is REAL! I giggle every time Sano or Mizuki mention they're in love with the other but neither of them realize how they feel about each other. 😆

I did NOT see that ending coming. Talk about your dark take on Peter Pan. Hot damn. I'll hopefully have my thoughts collected and a more cohesive review up soon!

With interview pages between each chapter, These Broken Stars is kind of a precursor to The Illuminae Files. A massive luxury ship crashes out of hyperspace onto a seemingly deserted planet with only two survivors—Tarver and Lilac. This two POV story was basically what I expected a YA sci-fi novel about two teens crash landing on a seemingly deserted planet to be like. I was really enjoying it until things got extremely romantically involved in the last bit. Tarver kept referring to Lilac as "his girl" and being very possessive of her and it put me off. I was initially going to rate it a 4, but that dropped it down half a star for me.

It's an enjoyable read, but nothing groundbreaking. Looking forward to book 2.

This was the lighthearted fluffy romance I needed! Just the right amount of steam (that is to say it was there, but not overly explicit) mixed with humor and witty banter that I love in a romcom. Though I will say I am far too American and found myself either Googling things I didn't know, relying on my knowledge of British culture from the BBC, or simply using context clues to figure out what some things were. (That's utterly on me and the book was 100% enjoyable regardless of not knowing a lot of British things.) This is definitely one I will be revisiting from time to time because I adore how utterly dense Luc and Oliver are.

Looking forward to Husband Material in 2022!

This book deserves ALL THE STARS. All of them. This was the sweetest book I've read in a long time and the best slow-burn I think I've EVER read.

A more full review to come.

It wasn't what I was expecting based off the synopsis, but it was cute. I picked this one up from a dollar store and, while a good read, am glad I didn't pay full price for it. Interesting concept but think the execution was a little off.
