It's a book that demands to be considered---and it certainly ought to be. It can be enjoyed without thought, but it cannot be fully understood without thought.

I found it difficult to sympathize with the characters. The only character I felt anything more positive towards was Evret---and that was pity. Most of the other characters infuriated me.
