Unfolding like a puzzle.
This lusciously written novel about personalities, money, order, and who get to tells stories and who consumes them explores with ease ideas about history and the power of stories.
A reminder that history is another story told. It engages the reader and forces them to interact with biases by deliberately pointing them out.
An excellent exercise in the act of consuming stories.
Have many many more thoughts on this but bravo Hernan Diaz.

Piglet by Lottie Hazell

There's a lot about Piglet that I enjoyed.
The mysteries surrounding the nicknamed Piglet and why she makes the choices in her day to day feel true and relatable even though they're never spoken outright.
The strengths come from an honesty that's strong enough to suffocate.
The novel does feel a little, too long. At some point it plateaus and begins to feel repetitive. This may be the point but it does not make for a good reading experience. Luckily, the majority of the novel works even if the tale as a whole feels a little to indulgent.
