This is a fun collection of essays. The author's voice reminds me of David Sedaris, if he were a Southern woman.

I enjoyed it, but the author is self-deprecating to the point that she almost reminds me of her SNL character “Debbie Downer.” Still, I love her voice and her stories. I definitely laughed out loud a few times and would love to see her do more tv and movie parts.

I loved this book. The characters are complex and fascinating, if not always likeable. It’s beautiful and tragic, as it centers around one man and the wide circles of generational dysfunction his choices set into motion.

I loved this book. He manages to write about his home country and life in a way that truthful but not hopeless. Reading about his life brought a new level of admiration for all he’s accomplished.
