I really disliked the writing style. Didn't even make it past the first chapter.

Pretty good, but I enjoyed The Housemaid better. I'll have to see about her other books

Oh my. Where to start?
I was gifted this book for Christmas and obviously the person who gifted it either didn't check the description or just really doesn't know me. Probably both. I hated Haunting Adeline, skipped Satan's Affair and Hunting Adeline and was going to skip this. I decided to give it a try since it was a gift and for a reading challenge. I also just like being a hater.
So, at the beginning Molly talks about how horrible her parents are and Some of the shit she's been through. Okay cool. There's a character named Mario who I'm almost sure was only included for diversity and he just let her buy alcohol because she cried and said her parents would report her to the police for buying drugs. That they made her buy. Make it make sense. Anyway, another character that I'm pretty sure was only included for diversity was Rio. He was one of the "guards" or something at Francescas. That's it. One of the quotes for him was something like "his accent deepened in annoyance" you've gotta be kidding me. Gotta love the caricatures of Hispanic people.
Anyway she escapes Francescas and finds a nice black couple. Again, I have a feeling they were only included for diversity because as soon as they try to help her she runs away. Because she's scared that Francesca is going to come after her. Whatever.
She now owns a pig farm and their diet? Corpses of course. Just corpses. She works with an organization called Legion. Which is basically Z but for smaller criminals or something? I don't know. It's just Z. And Cage, the love interest is basically just Zade if we're being honest.
Speaking of Cage, he assaults Molly at least twice in this book. She tries to tell him no and he just ignores her. And it's just okay because he's hot and sex feels good.
She mentions her trauma a lot and at one point even says it's made her disinterested in sex but she has sex with Cage anyway because she wants to feel good. We never get to see how her trauma has affected her.
The sex scenes also just felt random. Like they were there just because the author wanted to include some "spice"
I'm only giving this book half a star because the pigs have cute names. They're all named after spices. Other than that, I didn't like anything.
There's a whole lot more I could include but honestly I just want to be done with this book as a whole.
One last thing though, look up trigger warnings if you decide to read this because the author did not do a very good job of including them.

I really tried to give this book a chance. The cover is so cute (even though the characters on the front are the opposite of their own descriptions). And I love the concept. I was enjoying it at first. But it seems the author didn't realize that there are womens hockey teams. Also the hockey player character is Canadian which gets brought up a lot and she's always tacking on "eh?" At the end of her sentences. We get that she's from Canada damn it. I hope the authors other books are better :(

I have absolutely no words. This is a very painful yet important book
