The book is as fun as this cover šŸ˜ I loved having a POC FMC and how strong and smart she was. Aiden was the perfect MMC in a hockey romance: the captain of the team and golden boy, for whom hockey has always been a priority until now šŸ˜Œ

This was a very fun and fast read, filled with tons of banter and fun spice, and I cannot wait for more in this series!!!

The way I was soooo excited the second it was announced that not only a Latinx man but a Colombian one would become the MMC for one of my favorite authors I lost my shit!!! Colombians donā€™t get much Rep and when we do itā€™s usually not in a good light, but Ana Huang managed to make Xavier such a likable and well rounded character that didnā€™t fall into any of the gross Hollywood stereotypes of both Latinx and Colombian men.

His chemistry with sloane was through the roof and the spice was spicing!!! I had a different idea of how this dynamic would pan out but Iā€™m glad I was wrong because this banter between a golden retriever and a black cat was soooo much better!

Sloaneā€™s personal story was also really good and showed a lot of insight into who she is, and the growth arc both characters had was so well done.

As always: Iā€™m obsessed.

I loved how this book dealt with grief and eating disorders but if this is something you struggle with please be mindful of the triggers.

It was mild in spicy and high in angst, and I throughly enjoyed it! If you are a sports romance fan I think this is a great fast read to pick up!

If you are going to write a second gen book this is how you do it!!! I fucking adored everything about this. All the characters we previously met remained as amazing as they were in their own books and the story didnā€™t ruin them like it often happens. Also we got enough insight into their lives while focusing on the new generation which is the way to do it.

Gigi and Ryder were an amazing grumpy/sunshine duo and the way their relationship developed felt so organic, Iā€™m obsessed with them. I have zero complaints about this book and I just want to stay in this world forever! Give me a book about every single of the Off Campus/Briar U kids, plus their friends, Iā€™ll devour them all.

I was so excited for this book after loving all the other briar books in both series, but between the internalized fatphobia the FMC has and the lack of communication I was annoyed at times. I love Connor from previous books so I guess I also expected a bit more, but I still enjoyed it, it just didnā€™t close the series with a bang.
