Be aware this is a negative review. I went into this book having the complete wrong ideas. I don’t really know what bothered me in this book, it could be that it has too much description which did not keep my focus. I wanted the book to have a little more magic and I really did not expect this book to go in the direction it did. I skim read the last 20% because I was DESPERATE to be done with it. 

The hate hex is a cute fast paced fantasy romance between a witch and a vampire. If you’re a seasonal reader, this book would be perfect for halloween. Since I am not into insta lovey books, that kind of took away from my enjoyment but if that’s your thing, you would definitely enjoy it! 

English - To be honest I went into this book with high expectations since I kept seeing everyone read and be obsessed with it. The first thing I realised was that this isn’t my kind of romance which is insta-love. I need my romances to be slow-burn and full of yearning, which was at zero in this book. Still the fact that it felt like Gilmore Girls made it very much fun to read, as well as the fact that she’s a café owner and the love interest a farmer who likes to rescue animals. The writing was kind of cringey (I’m sorry) but it was very easy readable so I binged it in two days!

Deutsch - Ehrlich gesagt hatte ich hohe Erwartungen an dieses Buch, da ich immer wieder sah, wie jeder es las und davon besessen war. Das Erste, was mir klar wurde, war, dass dies nicht meine Art von Liebesgeschichte ist, nämlich Liebe auf den ersten Blick. Ich brauche Liebesgeschichten, die sich langsam entwickeln und voller Sehnsucht sind, und die war bei diesem Buch gleich null. Trotzdem machte es die Tatsache, dass es sich wie Gilmore Girls anfühlte, sehr unterhaltsam zu lesen, ebenso wie die Tatsache, dass sie eine Cafébesitzerin ist und ihr Liebhaber ein Landwirt, der gerne Tiere rettet. Der Schreibstil war etwas peinlich (tut mir leid), aber es war sehr leicht zu lesen, also konnte ich es in zwei Tagen gelesen!

(English)This was a cute young adult mlm romance, where the main characters explore their sexuality as well as themselves. The side characters were also very prominent within the book which I very much appreciated

As a person who loves sweets, I loved reading about the bakery, it was extremely cosy and cute seeing the bakery scenes. 

(deutsch) Dies war eine süße MLM-Romanze für junge Erwachsene, in der die Hauptfiguren ihre Sexualität und sich selbst erforschen. Auch die Nebenfiguren kamen im Buch sehr gut zur Geltung, was ich sehr zu schätzen wusste.

Als jemand, der Süßes liebt, habe ich es geliebt, über die Bäckerei zu lesen. Es war äußerst cozy und süß, die Szenen in der Bäckerei zu sehen.

Dieses Buch ist ganz anders als ich erwartet hatte. Das Einzige, was ich richtigerweise erwartet hatte, war, dass es sehr ähnlich wie Der Schatten des Windes von Carlos Ruiz Zafon ist. Einige Aspekte, die ich ähnlich fand und die mir sehr gut gefielen, waren die Bedeutung der Nebenfiguren sowie der mysteriöse Aspekt. Was ich nicht erwartet hatte, war die romantische Nebenhandlung, die die Handlung sehr süß machte.
Obwohl mich die Zeitlinien manchmal verwirrten, brachte mich der Schreibstil dazu, weiterzulesen.
