I loved learning these characters so deeply, living their lives alongside them. This is way more than a coming of age story. It’s a beautiful winding road to travel along with the characters and it is so incredibly refreshing to read. Stylistically bold and never feeling forced.

This was a struggle to get through. Took me a solid month and I was too stubborn to stop. It wasn’t very interesting, the plot was lacking, and the characters were bland.

This is one of those books that if you get it, you get it, and if you don’t, you don’t.

Looking beyond the superficial content to see the themes of rage, isolation, otherness, and loss of self in early motherhood is what makes this book so real for me.

Easily one of the best representations of the pain and agony of motherhood that I’ve read.
