I think this is the first cozy fantasy I've read and it's definitely cozy... maybe too cozy for me. I also kinda wish the romance was more in your face. overall it was enjoyable so 3.5 stars btw I don't think viv ever invested in that cream and sugar

the writing felt too edgy, though I get what the author was trying to do, it just didn't work for me. the story itself was very dark and off-putting, and I was flinching during the entirety of *that* chapter. the trauma of teenage girlhood
