The Complete Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi
2.0
I was forced to read this book for a creative writing class. As with most of the forced literature I encounter, I wasn't really feeling it. I mean, this book was okay at the time. I don't know why I made myself read this again. Probably an attempt to change my mind. But nope, it's still "okay".
Ladle Rat Rotten Hut by Cameron Jace

I couldn't take the rep-rep-repetition of words and syllables. The twist at the end was okay.
Blood Apples by Cameron Jace

Much better than Mary, Mary Quite Contrary. The prequels are starting to come together now. But with every introduction of "new" characters, I feel like it's one step forward, two steps back. I might have to reread everything.
Iron Hans: A Grimms' Fairy Tale by Matt Tavares, Stephen Mitchell

I had to read this for Sci Fi & Lit class. I mean...it's okay. I like it. It's not the best Grimm story, but it's better than some of the fairy tales.
Rich Kids of Instagram by Maya Sloan, The Creator of Rich Kids of Instagram
1.0
There were so many POVs that it got old real quick. Basically no plot--just the same rich kid story but with a different name each time. I considered abandoning this countless times, but I kept convincing myself that the book might get better, that it will break away from the lengthy intros of each character and finally get to the meat of the story. But there was no meat.
Born Confused by Tanuja Desai Hidier
3.0
I thought I would be reading a fluffy YA book. I was wrong. Born Confused is actually quite deep. The downside is it becomes angsty and drawn out at times. The main character, Dimple, was written in such a way that I felt a connection with her. It felt like she and I were friends, and there were many times when I wanted to help her deal with what she was going through. I don't often encounter this kind of writing, which isn't a bad thing. I liked that the author was able to help me engage with the story.
