I don’t read a lot of omniscient third person books but I think it worked here. Great characters and relationships/dynamics, strong sense of time and place, and interesting mystery. Serious subject matter, but the characters still had a sense of humour which helped prevent it from feeling too dreary!

A riveting and tender fast-paced mystery/noir exploring grief, trauma, and family, with strong sense of place, interesting urban fantasy world-building, and great characters. Hope Sam Kyung Yoo writes more with them.

This just did not hit the same as HitCS for me! The first book had a clear and interesting character arc for Linus, whereas I wasn’t totally sure what Arthur’s was supposed to be here.
