Insane book. I loved it. It felt like being splashed with Caesars blood during a showing of Shakespeares play. It felt like being disembowled and put back together with rusted staples. I can't decide if I would fall for X and burn like a handful of people in her path or if I would hate her so violently I could become one of her art projects. It hit me in ways I did not expect.

"The wizard in spite of his wizardly eyes
Didn't know he had married a witch in disguise
He thought her a very respectable maid
And hoped she would never discover his trade"

Notably an essay on fantasy from Tolkien. It is a wonderful essay that challenges the use of fantasy in physical medium, theatre for instance.
