The Perfection of a Moment by Kimberly Brown
4.5
Listen sometimes I like a book when a character goes through some shit and prevails at the end. I like the work and perseverance. But sometimes you want a book that gives you all the warm and gooey feels. And that’s exactly what The Perfection Of A Moment gave me. I loved Ximena and Hiram. I loved how they were established in their careers and knew their worth there. I loved their support systems who were always there for me and proud of their accomplishments. I loved how they both saw their attraction to each other and took a chance on seeing where it would go. Hiram loved to spoil Ximena by making her life easier in any way he could. He did it because he liked to and how appreciative of it she was. Ximena hadn’t been with anyone in a year and I loved the fact she took a chance on him. She didn’t hold it against Hiram that he would have modeling jobs out of the city. But instead whenever he could phone or FaceTime her, she was willing. She would pick him up from the airport when she could. I really liked how they were intentional in talking to each other while away from each other.
I also loved Homer, Ximena’s dog. And how he caused the two of them to meet. And how Hiram came to love him. I was just really happy and in my good feels when reading this book.

Oh my god I loved them. Like I’ve loved couples before but this was so mhmm. I felt for Bella losing her job, then her boyfriend dumping her, and inevitably kicking her out. But it led her to Elijah and those two were fucking fire. It was a matter of when will they but we knew both sides felt it and I was curious Joe it would be done. Fucking Jeremy showing up at their apartment threw me cause I still don’t know how he knew where she lived.
I did feel for both Elijah and Bella after she unwittingly hurt his feelings. But their comeback oh my god 😍 those two were obsessed with each other in the best way. I loved how he made it a priority to take her on dates since she had never really experienced them. Or how they just spent time together. Their chemistry was off the chain!
I liked how Bella finally told her mom how her always criticizing her made her feel. And how her mom finally took it to heart and went to therapy. Way to go Bella on setting your boundaries!
I’m curious about Bella’s cousin Quin and Elias. What’s going on there? Are we gonna get a story?
I am kinda bummed that Elijah didn’t meet Bella’s parents. I would have liked to see them as we saw her meet his family.
