Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

I went into this blind, not even knowing what the title meant. This was not the rollercoaster I initially thought it would be. It's a ferris wheel ride that pauses long, then drops in quick succession. The inclusion of the Aztec culture coinciding with the timeline gives a prophetic aspect to it that I would have considered cheesy in other reads but not in this one. I would recommend it, I just wouldn't read it again.

It's a good thing I can't say the title right. It just about put the fear of the Aztec god in me lol. The insinuation of the cyclical nature of time in this book followed by the 'breaking of the wheel' by our main character was so well done, I had to double check who the author was. I couldn't find anything about them. This is my first time reading about something so interesting only to find nothing about the author. Now I'm more curious than ever
