The writing style in this book is very blunt and matter of fact. The character mercy is also extremely confident in themselves so character growth isn’t found much through the plot. The way the author explains things is very straight forward but the plot seems disjointed

Dune takes you into a steam punk futuristic world where a young man is set to come of age, a duke, and a savior for the desert world dune.

This is a big read with a lot of world building. If you are patient and willing to go through that the plot has a lot to offer. Once you understand the world and politics it is really thrilling. Would give it a five star but the author can sometimes be very overwhelming in language. Having to reread it a couple times.

The first book of the lunar chronicles invites you into a futuristic fairy tale with a driven heroine and a  compelling society.  I revision of these classic fairy tales  pulls you in and it becomes a real page-turner.
