It was so much fun. It had a horror movie aesthetic, which I very much appreciated. I LOVED the vibes, and overall, it was a quick and easy read.

As an avid dinosaur lover, I am so impressed! While anthologies can often be a hit or miss, I found myself truly enjoying most of the stories in this collection.
Please read this if Jurassic Park is your thing or "creature features" generally! Not only is it entertaining, but the proceeds go to a fantastic organization.

Amazingly illustrated and feels true to R.L.’s style.

BUT, without spoilers:

The story overall feels “good” not “great”. There are great concepts but the execution leaves some things to be desired. The big dramatic moments are weakened by the lack of developed dialogue. Which often had me having to re-read certain pages to understand what had happened.

Additionally, there are (too obvious) foreshadowing moments put out there. As if to say, “hey remember me! This is important for later!” But meanwhile, the comic itself is too short and the release date of the next issue is months away for someone to really care about the details. (Which is another concerning thing.)

To summarize I’d say the comic feels rushed at. Which as a longtime fan, is slightly disappointing! But, I’d say this is a great read for a younger teen audience who are looking to bridge the gap into darker horror material.

And as always, boom knocks it out of the park with their presentation of the comic, but if that’s the best part of it. What are we really doing?
