I LOVE PEOPLE AND MURAKAMI WRITES THEM TOO WELL
Didn’t feel like the fantasy aspect was necessary though.
Loved that it is just one night, and to be honest did not mind that there is little to nothing happening. Wish it was just a tiny bit crazier and I got to know the sister a bit more

I wish this book was more focused and also knew what it was. It cannot decide if it wants to be a story based in reality or a documentation of events that happened in the US between 1914 and 1991 (approximately). Hence it reads quite oddly. Do not pick up if you are not interested in this story and don’t have any prior knowledge.
On the positive side the story itself is really captivating, I loved the exploration of how gender affected how long it took for justice to be ruled and everything in this book.

Best book ever written. Felt like it was about me, except I am all of the characters.

The review that said that this book is like a long, delicious gossip column reviewed this book best. Three women that find themselves on top of the entertainment industry, get on tranquilizers and go down. Character study I could not put down.
