it's sort of Inuyasha meets Castle with a heavy focus on Korean mythology, and with the enemies-to-lovers, cyclical nature of the prologue vs epilogue and the wayward leaves of cherry blossoms alongside a red string of fate trope?

this could not have been written for anyone other than me, myself and i and we're loving it

Ms. Connolly, you had me right up until the partner swap between certain characters.

Then you lost me for a bit.

But the sheer enormity of the novel that was an utter and complete avoidance between the main characters having any sort of true communication regarding the tension between them was compelling as fuck. It was the animosity that lingered in the wake of each bout of evasion, the stubbornness in Maddie as she wallows in her grief for her brother, the quiet comfort that Dominic exuded; the plot just wouldn't let me go.

This wasn't a perfect story but it had heart, humour and a resonate tone of hope at the end that I couldn't help but enjoy.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 50%.

I think this just solidifies that stories that focus on a podcast in some way are just not for me because I cannot seem to find it in me to care about these characters at all.

And that hurts because I feel like Kate Clayborn has betrayed me but I also sense this trend that I only ever adore her for every other book that she releases. It’s a very she-loves-me-she-loves-me-not kinda relationship.
