it was rlly good. i enjoyed it until the end, i thought i disliked the ending but now that ive sat with it for a few hours, i know i actually loved it. def recommend!
i cried, a few times. i loved everything even in the times when i felt a bit bored i was still very into the story. darrow has became one of my favorite mcs now, maybe give the boy some happiness i think that’d be good. when he cried so did i, when he felt anger so did i, i felt every emotion he did. i felt for him constantly, he’s just a boy afterall, and he didn’t get a lot of happy moments. overall i get the book 5stars i truly loved it and am excited to read the next in the series.
twists after twists, some are predictable while others left me confused and standing still for a few minutes while i processed them. the audiobook was beautifully done but i think there was too much happening to where i was more confused by each twist and each ‘villain,’ especially the final twist left me confused. the cliffhanger was good though, left me wanting to know the rest.
a new favorite main character who’s journey i, even when not agreeing with for his own health, i loved following and even encouraging occasionally. usually i would agree that revenge is a fool’s game but tau is a damn strong fool. 5 stars, easily. some characters i didn't even like when first meeting them but grew to love and some i had mixed feelings for i was still rooting for in the end. the fighting and sparring scenes were so well written. i simply cannot say enough good things about this book, can’t wait to pick up the next in the series.
haven’t been much of a fantasy reader in the past but my days was this wonderful. i truly wish we were getting a sequel. the development of almost all the characters, the heartache and the love that i grew for everyone in the book was amazing. it’s beautifully painful and i truly recommend it.

my first sci-fi book and i truly loved it. feeling emotional over alien and human friendships wasn’t something i expected going into the book but it was wonderful. from beginning to end i was very intrigued and looking forward to the next chapter.

this book started off so strong. i was wrapped up in the story and the way it flowed through, until i wasn’t. when the plot twist is, ‘oh the bad guy isn’t the character who’s been evil the entire story but instead is the one character who’s been good and the evil character is actually acting like that for a reason!’ it’s so exhausting and i’ll never be a fan of it. it’s too easy to see coming. i could barely finish the book because of how predictable the twist was. McFadden has far better books and usually i love them, this one isn’t for me. for a book that does this better, i suggest Don’t Let Her Stay by Nicola Sanders. Happy Reading :)
