i don’t usually do long reviews like this for books, but i received an arc for this one through a giveaway and thought it would be helpful to give it a thorough review.
i wasn’t too confident that i was going to like this book as i was currently in a month-long reading slump and this was only clare gilmore’s second novel. but i was pleasantly surprised.
“perfect fit” follows josephine davis who is the founder and ceo of a clothing brand called revenant. as she’s driving to a meeting one day, she gets into an accident with a man named will grant, who just so happens to be the her ex-best friend’s twin brother whom she drunkenly made out with 10 years ago, causing her to lose not only her best friend but her status at school.
i’m gonna be honest, this book was pretty amazing. the writing was incredibly thoughtful and the pop culture references didn’t seem too forced. there were no slow or dull parts that were difficult to get through, which is very rare to see in books these days. each character held my attention and were all important to the plot line in some way.
overall, clare gilmore did a phenomenal job on this book and she seriously needs to be recognized more in the book community!
