I enjoyed this very much and loved seeing thef very whimsical Lord Blackthorn again.  While I can't say I enjoyed it as much as Half A Soul, it is still a delightful Cinderella/Rumplestitskin hybrid with some fun twists and turns. I also have to admit that I didn't realize where the book was going until I was a third of thr way through,  which is a testament to its originality, perhaps, despite its source material.

I thought it cute to add this backstory to Albert & Elias, and it was cool to glimpse some of Elias' full magical capacity. But, I'm not sure that this was an entirely necessary prequel. Would have loved to learn more about the magic, faerie & how Elias got to England (both why and what it takes to travel between faerie and the mortal realm).

A fast-paced delightful read. I would love to know more about the magic system, Elias' origin story & Dora's mom's original bargain. Nevertheless,  this magical jaunt thru regency-era England is so delightful as is its thoughtful contrast between the aristocracy and working classes. I enjoyed Atwater's writing and this specific world so much that I can't wait to read the rest of this series and anything else she has written.

My inner scientist loved this bodice-ripper centered around a young woman geologist. It was a ridiculous jaunt,  but very enjoyable and easy to read. I wish we'd gotten a bit more science & a little less ingenue from Minerva, but it was still a fun read!

Gosh, out of tej three books in the Last Binding trilogy, this might be my favorite. Watching the ever-so-stern Hawthorne Cole to terms with himself in parallel with discussions about social equity and a beautiful magic system. And, the climax of the book unravels with incredible twists and turns. I am so sad to be saying good-bye to these books (for the 2nd time) and can't wait to pick them up again down the road.

Rereading this book and it is truly a lark! The amount of imagination and world-building that continues in this sequel is incredible. I love seeing the ferocity and vulnerability of the two female protagonists. And, I love getting to spend more time with Lord Hawthorne and see the seeds get planted for his story in the final book of the trilogy. This series I quickly becoming my favorite comfort read I loo forward to going back over and over again.

I just re-read this book after 1.5 heard and it was such a delight to fall back in love with Edwin & Robin, enjoy Freya Marske's prose and beautiful World-building and re-learn the components of this magical system. I can't recommend this sweet, fascinating magical jaunt enough

Really enjoyed this finale. The world-building continues to be fantastic and this is truly a fabulous ending to a very interesting, meandering modern witchy series.

I loved The Last Binding trilogy and the prose really stands out int his book. It was a little too dense for me when it came to work-related intrigue, but I otherwise enjoyed it very much! Am looking forward to the next thing Freya Marske writes!
