Thanks to Net galley and Quercus for my advance reader copy of this book which is the 4th in in the Rebel Blue Ranch series
In this book, we are following the story of Cam and Dusty. I fell in love with Dusty; he's absolutely a superstar. I adore the second-chance romance aspect of this book and loved seeing how we had glimpses of their past to get a better understanding of where both Cam and Dusty are today and how their relationship has developed over time and how it changed. I loved how this book is extremely character-driven, and both Dusty and Cam have strong character development. Dusty, in particular, grows from a shy, reserved individual to a confident and assertive person, while Cam evolves from a reckless and impulsive character to a more thoughtful and considerate one.
I have just finished reading Modern Divination. I loved the premises of this book; however, the execution let me down as it is prolonged-paced It's a very character-driven book with significant character development, and I loved that we have a diverse case. While reading this book, we can see one of the substantial points of focus is the character flaws in part of the book. It felt so long, and I struggled to read. I felt there could have been more of a plot. I still don't understand that magic system in this world. It is left unexplained for the most part. I am curious to see where the story will go. It feels more like a cosy fantasy with a hint of romance with the tropes of forced proximity whilst following Auerila, whos curated a perfect human life alongside her serious magical life.
nother Net galley Backlog is The Anti-Wedding Party by Lucy Know. This book has an adorable cover, which attracted me to it. This was a rapid and easy read, but the book felt flat for me, and I couldn’t connect to any of the characters and didn’t care about them. It has a very descriptive style, and the plot is practically non-existent. Though it was a quick and easy read, I found finishing challenging.
I have loved reading this book and the dual pov of Elias and Ararma. It was a quick read with a very intriguing storyline, and you keep thinking about who has done it and why I found this started for me around the 40 % mark; I felt like a very slow burn, but you could feel the tension slowly picking up between Elias and Arama. One of my favourite characters has to be Claude. He made me laugh at times with how eccentric he is, but I also love how much of a good friend he is. I loved travelling around the Dravemoor estate with the whole gang. They each had so many quirks.
Thank you to Datura and Angry Robot for including me on this tour and providing me with a copy of this book.
This book showcases a wonderfully accessible writing style that warmly embraces diverse cultural backgrounds, particularly through the journey of Lily. After her sister’s traumatic experience, Lily courageously supports those in need. From the very beginning, we see Lily's incredible strength as she skillfully disarms a Russian mob enforcer.
As the story unfolds, the characters face difficult decisions that test their integrity, confronting complex sociopathic antagonists. It is a vibrant exploration of resilience, compassion, and the importance of standing up for what is right!
