Hear me out. Yes a 3. The character is hard to like at times. And the whole setting is yucky including the plodding writing and housemates. Some gems of both too. But that’s the point. And the weight of narrative around the books makes you stop and think often.

Like the story.
Weird writing style.
Lots and I mean LOTS of nice short chapters.

Liked the ‘what if’ idea.

Hare subject matter. Insight on crimes against women written by a woman hits harder and more authentically.

It ground to a halt in the middle otherwise this would be 5.
An ethereal mystery Sri Lankan Noir.

Sri Lankan literature has a sadness about it. This does a good job personalising it.

I love Medusa.
A very hard slow read. Lots of back reading needed. But the second reads were always better.
