Title: Prom Queen

I took a leap of faith with this book. It was way out of my comfort zone, and I'd never read any of Wolfe's books before. I couldn't have been more surprised by this book if I tried.
The MC was very flawed and realistic. She could at times be unlikeable (no character in the book was perfect or morally so, and she was an example of this). However, she needed to be that way to further the plot and make the story what it is, and I felt that it made the book so much better for her to be 3D and human.
The blurb promises a surprise twist ending and it was dead on (pun intended). The climax gripped me by the throat and wouldn't let go, even after I'd finished. What's more, the epilogue shocked me to no ends. All I can hope is that there will be a sequel to follow up on that in the future because I can't stop thinking about it!

I saw this book on NetGalley and was immediately drawn in by the gorgeous cover and premise. It sounded like TET would feature some of my favourite tropes, which intreagued me. Sadly, I didn't really enjoy it as much as I'd hoped I would.
Personally, I felt the writing difficult to get into, and the characters annoyed me enough that I wasn't really very motivated to continue on. Of course, these are all subjective but they just didn't suit me personally.
However, I'm glad that there are people out there who have loved this book and I'm happy for them. This wasn't really my sort of thing, but it's good to discover new corners of the book community nevertheless.
