One of the most unique novels I’ve ever read. This wasn’t perfect by any means—but feels like a narrative breath of fresh air.

Full of beautiful, rich prose that readers have come to expect from Jesmyn Ward. Her writing is stunning, as always. I think for me, I found that I didn’t love this one as much as I loved Sing Unburied Sing or Salvage the Bones, unfortunately.
