First of all, I want to thank Flux and NetGalley for allowing me to read an e-arc of this book in exchange for an honest opinion. Now let's get into this, shall we?
Oof, this book hurts. You know the song "Hurts like hell"? Well, this is the summary of this book. In the story, we have two timelines: the past, before the "Worst Night" and the present, months after the "Worst Night". And we follow Rory and her friendship with Liv, as they become friends, and while Rory catches romantic feelings toward Liv.
At first, when I was reading the before I was like "Ugh this looks like a Jon Green book, and they are so not like the other girls", but the after kept me reading. And, yes they might not be like the other girls, especially Rory, but it is more complicated, they are more complicated and complex. The characters are touching, but most importantly they have flaws, and it really shows during the story.
This is a book with good characters, and that will hit you right in the feels. It deals with mental health, friendship, love, family, grief, death... A lot of heavy topics, that made me cry. And Rory, falling for your bf? Yeah, I get the feeling tbh.
So yes, this book made me cry, and it was my first read for Sapphic September, I think it's a good choice right?
So please, go read this book.
Also, a funny thing: now that I'm not a teenager anymore, I can totally understand and/or relate to the parents (even if they can be wrong in their actions).

Un essai important dans un contexte actuel important où le sujet de l’avortement est remis sur le tapis. C’est simple, ça va droit au but, et c’est un très bon début pour s’engager dans le sujet. Je ne savais pas que c’était de la non-fiction jeunesse, mais c’est clairement important que les plus jeunes, mais aussi les personnes n’y connaissant rien ou peu, ou même lisant peu de non-fiction, aient accès à des lectures accessibles et compréhensible sur des sujets importants.

J’ai pu lire ce livre grâce à NetGalley et franchement. C’etait pas mal. Je m’attendais peut-être à autre chose et plus d’action. J’ai trouvé le rythme un peu « messy » et j’ai trouvé certaines facilité dans la résolutions des certains problèmes (ou alors c’était plutôt facile à prédire. Je ne serai dire). Certaines scènes étaient un peu longues et d’autres trop courtes. Mais sinon c’est un bon livre franchement, c’est mignon, les personnages sont cools, et les relations de la fratrie sont justes géniales. J’aurai aimé en voir plus.
Bref un livre qui se lit bien, même si certaines chapitres sont un peu long pour ce qu’ils contiennent

En vrai j’ai kiffé. C’était juste géniale de voir toute la complexité de ces femmes, et comment les dieux les ont détruites. C’était un beau livre avec beaucoup d’émotions et de bons rebondissements. Donc malgré quelques soucis que j’ai trouvé au niveau rythme (j’ai trouvé le début un peu long), ou certains passages qui m’ont un peu perdus, c’est une véritable pépite

Okay, il fallait bien que je lise ce comic après avoir adoré Gwen dans Spider-verse. Et bah je peux vous dire que je l’adore encore plus suite à ce comics. Gwen est vraiment un personnage tiraillé entre Gwen et Spider-Woman. Elle essaye de faire de son mieux, mais s’éloigne de tout le monde à cause de la culpabilité qu’elle ressent envers Peter et sa mort. Et cela même après les évènement de spider-verse. Elle essaye de fuir la police, aider son père et le protéger, rattraper ses erreurs, essayer de reprendre une vie… mais tout la dépasse. Et son évolution au cours du récit est intéressante.
Je l’ai vraiment aimé et le plus ses interactions avec les autres personnages. Que ce soit les Parker, Harry Osborn qui lui aussi s’en veut pour la mort de Peter et qui en veut à spider-woman, son père, ses amies, Felicia, Jess et meme captain America.
J’ai aussi beaucoup aimé découvrir Castle et Murdock de cet univers. Non parce que Matt??? I have to Stan. Anyway. Je lirais clairement la suite

So in this graphic novel, we follow a group of young adults who are queer and marginalised during the satanic panic in the USA, and especially in a very religious and conservative little town. So when a murder happened the authorities create a moral panic saying satanic did it. And the group of fitness are the perfect ones to blame.
I really really really like it. I love queer horror stories. Like horror is queer for me, and we need way more queer horror stories. The drawings are great, and the group of friends is superbe. Like we can see how much they care for each others, they always have each others back, and are here for each others. The horror was pretty good too. And I really wanted to know, how they would survive this.
The thing that bothered me was the pacing. It felt weird at some point, but not bad either… I just hope we will have a sequel because this ending????
