A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess
5.0
Its strange and disturbing but absolutley compelling! The main character Alex, pretty much has his own language, and once you start to decipher it (and you eventually will) you realize that he's stolen, beaten, and raped... and enjoys it! But when he accidentally kills an old lady, he has two choices: go to prison for years to come, or go through a program to condition him to be good. The book essentially warns people that bad things can still be done for good reasons, which still makes it evil, as you see through Alex. Alex is an awful person that you want to hate, but you'll hate the government more, and end up liking and pitying him in the end. A must read for all!
Podkayne of Mars by Robert A. Heinlein

The book is insanely good. Podkayne is a girl from Mars, and she gets to go on a round trip to Venus and Earth with her annoying, coniving, greedy genius brother, and her kind politician great uncle. Of course they never make it to Earth because of an adventure on Venus! It teaches readers the importance of family (to me that is. Heinlein descirbes Venus in such great detail, making it seem like a future Las Vegas. Its a good read for all sci-fi lovers.
