What an experience! I sympathized with Jane and rooted for her throughout her journey, and being in her mind and reading her thoughts was absolutely enthralling. Charlotte Brontë can translate feelings into words in a way that makes even the most trivial events feel wholesome and the slightest glances feel significant. I wish I had the capacity to describe my thoughts with this simple yet powerful eloquence.
I admire Jane Eyre's bold character and how it developed and was shaped by her experiences throughout life.
She was a timid child, orphaned at a very young age and then losing the only person who cared about her, her uncle (her mother's brother). She grew up scorned and cast out by her cousins and their mother; the only servant who showed her any affection was Bessie.
At Lowood Institute, she gained some confidence in a place where looks mattered less than intellect.
Jane was always told she looked plain and not very handsome. I suppose they said it as an objective fact, but that doesn't mean it didn't hurt her self-esteem.
Returning to Lowood, Jane formed a short-term friendship with Helen Burns. Unfortunately, Helen was taken ill and passed away shortly, but with a shockingly calm demeanor. She accepted death gracefully.
This crushed Jane, but then she befriended her teacher, Miss Temple.
After teaching for two years at Lowood, Miss Temple married and left. Jane felt lost, with no companion to share her thoughts and connect with intellectually. She grew restless and decided to advertise for the position of a governess. She needed a change of scenery.
At Thornfield, she met Mrs. Fairfax, a lovely but bland woman.  The need for an intellectual companion was filled by Mr. Edward Rochester. At first, though she acknowledged his stern and manly features, she didn't consider him handsome; she actually thought him quite ugly, which encouraged her to defy him. Growing up, she always had a sort of fear and reverence toward beauty. To be honest, it does affect people, and pretty privilege is real. When Mr. Rochester spoke with her, he sensed that she was different, special, and suited to him. She, too, felt most entertained conversing with him, and they truly connected intellectually. Though at first, she was rigid and restrained herself from speaking her mind fully, he sensed it and challenged her until she became herself with him. She laughed more, teased more, and expressed her opinions openly. Everyone could see that Mr. Rochester favored her and was ultimately falling in love. She fell for him too, but remained quiet due to the difference in status. He was supposed to marry Miss Ingram, who only wanted him for his money. He used her to make Jane jealous. Jane essentially confessed to him multiple times, though indirectly. Then we come to the beautiful garden scene where he proposed to her. There were tears, excitement, joy, and dreams of a bright future. For everything to crumble on the wedding day when an intruder objected to the matrimony on the grounds that Mr. Rochester was already married and his wife was alive. She was. The lunatic woman upstairs was his wife. He had been tricked by his father and brother into marrying her for her money and had been miserable ever since. He couldn't get rid of her, although he could have, but his conscience wouldn't let him. Even when she tried to kill him multiple times, he never hurt her. He was promised a lonely, loveless life, until he met Jane and figured he could get away with marrying her. Jane felt pity for him but could never yield to his desires when they so obviously went against her morals and her faith. She could never be his mistress. Though it pained her and tore her heart, she left him, without taking any of his gifts or money. I admired that—the way she resisted temptation and never made excuses. Leaving required immense strength.
In her journey out of Thornfield, she lost everything she had, had no money, and was starving. Everyone shut her out. How could a beggar be so well dressed? Unless she was a burglar. She almost died on the doorstep of the Rivers' house if Mr. St. John Rivers hadn't saved her, let her in, fed her, and sheltered her. After recovering, they let her live with them until Mr. St. John found her a job. She made great friends with Diana and Mary, and they were very similar to her. Though she liked Diana more for her assertiveness. Later, it turned out they were her cousins from her father's side (his sister), and she inherited £20,000 and split it between the four of them to lessen the burden of so much money and because she believed it to be just. Her cousin observed her and acknowledged her abilities and personal characteristics relating to perseverance, strength, and intellect, and decided she was suitable as a partner in his missionary endeavors. So he asked for her hand in marriage, which was extremely shocking. He didn't love her but saw her as a tool to accomplish his goals, and that eventually enough love would come to satisfy her needs! Abhorrent behavior and justification. It's suffocating just to think of her life after marrying him, filled with tiresome work. I can imagine if she cried from overwork he would not comfort her; for every time she cried in front of him, he didn't react at all and resumed work as usual. Then, for her to lose hope of ever living with someone who could give her the love she desired is devastating. She would be like Mr. Rochester, though with more physical than mental strain, but the lack of love would be the same. Thankfully, she refused his multiple attempts. She left for Thornfield to see how Mr. Rochester was doing because all of her letters to Mrs. ...
Fairfax was not returned, and she feared something might have happened, only to find it in ruins, apparently due to a fire. She then learns that the crazy wife set fire to the place and then fell from the roof while Mr. Rochester was trying to save her. He saved everyone else but failed to save himself. A lodge fell on him and cost him his hand and eye; the other eye suffered from an infection and caused him to be blind. He now lives on an isolated estate far in the woods with two servants (John and his wife). She goes to meet him, which was such a heartbreaking scene—to see the able, strong man so weak and dependent. He thought her a ghost. I like how he always describes her as a fairy, an otherworldly being. Now that she is back in his company, everything feels whole again. She is behaving naturally and being herself, whereas, while around St. John, she always pretended to satisfy him and always yielded, rarely speaking her mind. She had this effect on Edward as much as he on her. His sad countenance brightened again. Then they got married, had children, and lived happily ever after, enjoying each other's company. Oh, and two years after their marriage, Edward regained sight in one of his eyes, though not as clear as it used to be; he can still see and distinguish colors and shapes. I think it was partly due to his state of mind that his health improved. I was so grateful to the author for telling us the state of things ten years after the marriage. It soothed my heart to know that they are well and happy. Adele turned out to be a fine woman as well, which is comforting.

What most stood out for me in this novel is that the need for companionship is one of life's necessities. You cannot compensate for the absence of a friend or kindred spirit by the significance of your job or greatness of purpose.
That is why she left her job as a teacher, to seek new experiences and new people. It is also why she could not just leave with St. John and be part of a greater cause.
We can say that people do not matter to us as long as we better ourselves with achievements and increased social status, but we are only deceiving ourselves or are simply ignorant of how it feels to meet someone with the same brainwaves as you—someone who understands you before you even speak. It is truly a blessing to have that kind of friend.
I can see why Jane was so attached to Edward; she knows many nice people, but it is just not the same, and the connection is not as deep.
Overall, it is a great book full of emotions.

I didn't any book I've read made me feel as happy as I do while reading Harry Potter books. It's really magical and I'm so happy the books exist. It's heartwarming, exciting, deep, funny and sometimes it could get really sad. Many interesting characters that feel real. The emotions that these books evoke are the perfect balance for me. I think this might be my favorite one by far.
The mystery, the voices, the disappointment Harry feels about himself. Only to know that his apparent weakness would only make him stronger. Professor Lupin's relationship with Harry is wonderful i loved his classes.
The Quiddetch games are always a great treat I get extremly excited to read their chapters which is shocking. The author writes the action in a way that makes me feel like I'm there watching the game.
It's really sad knowing that James Potter best friend betrayed him.
Moony= Remus Lupin🐺
Padfoot= Sirius Black🐾
Wormtail= Peter Pettigrew 🤢🐀
Prongs= James Potter 🦌

There were somethings that didn't make sense. When Harry passed out in the train because of the dementors, Ron and Hermoine were shouting his name trying to wake him. Then a few pages later Professor Lupin calls him by his name and it's supposed to be suspicious like how did he know his name? Cmon he just heard it.
Another thing that annoys me is that they could've taken advantage of the Time Turner in a better way. They could have left an anonymous note warning them about Pettigrew's escape. Or they could've planted traps. I really wanted Harry to live with his godfather 😔. Anyways, he's not gone forever which gives me something to look forward to.
I couldn't distinguish Fred and George until this book and I'm starting to like George for some unknown reason. They're characters are starting to become more complex and I like that despite their affinity to jokes and pranks they stand up to their friends no matter what and their personality shifts.
Hermoine's slap is one the best highlights 🤣 Malfoy was really getting on my nerves.
The song "Even When I'm not" really fits Harry's situation. His parents protect him and are alive in him. Voldemort couldn't touch him because of his mother's protection and his father animal form in his patronus.
It's fascinating how despite his aunt and uncles hate towards him they still pick him up on time from the station. These little things make them feel like giving the best treatment anyone could give. It's just weird how their minds work.

I laughed hard at this: 🤣🤣
'What's that?' Uncle Vernon snarled, staring at the envelope Harry was still clutching in his hand. 'If it's another form for me to sign, you've got another -'
'It's not, said Harry cheerfully. 'It's a letter from my god-father.'
'Godfather?' spluttered Uncle Vernon. 'You haven't got a godfather!
'Yes, I have,' said Harry brightly. 'He was my mum and dad's best friend. He's a convicted murderer, but he's broken out of wizard prison and he's on the run. He likes to keep in
touch with me, though ... keep up with my news ... check I'm happy..."

Reading Harry Potter is like reading a thriller novel. There are clues and hints all through out the story and at the end everything is revealed and I love this mysterious aspect.
I always I forget that they're 12 year olds! Whenever I realize that I'm just like waaaiiittt a minute!!! they are LITTLE KIDS!! WHY IS THIS HAPPENNIG TO LITTLE KIDS!!! WHERE ARE THE ADULTS??!!
I understand that some children mature faster than others and Harry is probably one of them. He didn't have a proper loving family and was bullied almost all the time, and yet he persevered and haven't lost his sense of morals and always aspired to be good and kind. This is why he is ready to face difficult situations and make hard decisions and act without consulting adults, the adults in his life with the muggles never cared. I do hope that he grows out of this and start being honest with the professors because they can actually help.
I was so frustrated when he went into the chamber of secrets taking the most unreliable teacher in the school! He could've told professor McGonagall at least! They could've all died like I don't get it he has no excuse. But at the end of the day, he's still 12, not all of his actions are supposed to be logical. Even adults aren't always logical.
So, Tom Marvolo Riddle = I am Lord Voldemort. How can I forget this? I watched the movies i should've been shocked at this reveal. What lord voldemort looked like before he morphed into a big hairless rat. I just can't belive how little I remember of the movies.
Tom and Harry are alike in many things. Both orphaned. Both raised by muggles. Both with extraordinary powers. They are the only two who can speak parseltongue aside from Salazar Slytherin and they kind of look alike. I was surprised to learn that Harry's powers and his ability to talk to snakes were kind of stolen from lord voldemort himself. Tom Riddle despised his muggle father and his mother died shortly after giving birth to him so he knows nothing about her. On the other hand, Harry might have not known anything about his parents for the first eleven years of his life but he knows they loved him. He actually saw living proof of that love when he was fighting with professor Quierrel. He knows his mother died to protect him and that alone gives him more power and motivation to be good. Tom Riddle never had that kind of hope and trust in humanity. So he made his choices and became corrupt. I like the way Dumbeldore explained this to Harry.

"It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities."

Even if he has a part of Voldemort's power and abilities in him, his choice of how to use them is what defines him. It truly is a great message.

The more I talk about these books the more I fall in love with them. Aside from the action and mystery it has many heartwarming and funny moments. The Weasley home is just the best chaos there could every be. Fred and George are never serious i love them. Mr and Mrs Weasley are the parents Harry never had I love them so much.
I feel so bad for laughing at Dobby. I was shocked at first but then it was just weirdly funny.
Especially at the end of the book when he came with Mr. Malfoy and pointed at him and the diary while looking at Harry Potter and then punched himself because he's basically framing his master. And Harry didn't understand it at first do Dobby kept doing it and I continued laughing like a psycho.

I just want to talk about the Quidditch games!! They're extremely entertaining and tense and much better than the movie which is pretty shocking. I always look forward to the games.

Here are some funny moments from the book:

"Your aunt and uncle will be proud, though, won't they?" said Hermione as they got off the train and joined the crowd thronging toward the enchanted barrier. "When they hear what you did this year?"
"Proud?" said Harry. "Are you crazy? All those times I could've died, and I didn't manage it? They'll be furious..."

Ginny!" said Mr. Weasley, flabbergasted. "Haven't I taught you anything? What have I always told you? Never trust anything that can think for itself if you can't see where it keeps its brain?

I wanted a fun, little, cozy read, and since everyone admires Harry Potter, I thought I would give it a try.
The movies never really stuck with me, so not remembering anything enriched the experience. I didn't expect a "children's book" to be this good! The plot is very well thought out, the characters burst to life, and the stakes are REAL! There was never a dull moment! Ever! To me, this book was perfect. I felt angry, happy, excited, scared, frightened, sad, tearful, anxious, and victorious all throughout the book, and for the first time in a while, I actually laughed a few times reading it. Truly a full experience.

The plot twist at the end was shocking!! I thought Snape was the villain! He still doesn't like Harry, but he's not evil. It's just so well written, and the clues were there, even if they were faint. Hagrid is so sweet; I love him! He and Dumbledore are my favorite characters aside from our protagonists. I almost cried while Dumbledore explained why Quirrell was burned from touching Harry 😭.

Alright then, off to the next one! 🏃🏻‍♀️

Did not finish book. Stopped at 40%.
Started out strong, but the plot is silly and cringey, and the writing isn't very engaging. Couldn't connect with the characters at all.
Pretty disappointed, to say the least, because I truly thought I would like this book! The cover is beautiful, and there are fairytales, a magical winter land, and forgotten stories. The first part of the book, until the poison, was promising, then it all fell flat.
