Scot and Bothered by Alexandra Kiley

I really struggled to connect with Scot and Bothered by Alexandra Kiley. While the imagery of Brooke and Jack's journey on the trail was beautifully detailed, I found myself losing interest in the story. Despite being a second-chance romance, the relationship felt rushed, and I couldn’t fully invest in their journey.

I was excited to read The God of the Woods by Liz Moore after seeing all the hype, especially as part of my book club. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to my expectations. The multiple timelines and perspectives felt confusing, and perhaps listening to it instead of reading contributed to that. The story dragged until the last 15%, and even then, the big reveal was underwhelming. Overall, it was a disappointing read with a lackluster ending that left me wanting more.
Your Rule to Break by Rachel LaBerge

Just finished Your Rule to Break by Rachel Laberge, and it was everything I hoped for and more! Zack and Emilie took their time getting to know each other, and the flirtation was so much fun to read. What I loved most was how vulnerable they were able to be with each other—something Emilie really needed. The mental health representation was beautifully done; Emilie’s struggles with OCD felt so honest and real, and Zack’s steady, caring support made my heart melt. This story is full of heart, growth, and love—an absolute must-read!

Hopeless romantic Mason and romance skeptic Sawyer made for such a fun and heartfelt read in Unromance by Erin Connor! Each chapter cleverly followed classic romance tropes, but nothing felt forced—it was such a natural, enjoyable journey. An impressive debut, and I can’t wait to see what Erin Connor writes next!

This book just made me feel so icky reading it and it just kept getting worse.

I loved how the story alternated between past and present, letting us see how the relationship developed, fell apart, and ultimately came back together. While the marriage of convenience didn’t feel central to the plot, the steamy scenes and heavier emotional moments added depth, as the main characters worked to heal and grow.
