The FMC is insufferable. Somehow, the author thought that Alpha Female = profanity and constant sarcastic one-liners/comebacks. If you look past that the plot is actually good, the MMC is well developed. The romance between the two main characters is well developed. Overall, it is a really good book, ruined by one character decision. Obviously, some people liked the FMC comebacks because my Kindle told me, "X amount of people highlighted this." I want to read the second book and see if the author has more tolerable female character types. But I'm going to take a break from this series first.

The cameos and billionaire helicopter dates almost ruined it. I really enjoyed the book otherwise. The spice was great, the characters were dynamic, and it was a long enough book to really get to know them and their love story. I would give it 5 stars if we could eliminate even just the cameos. I cringe each time they happen. Seriously, just come up with new characters for each series...please.

I absolutely loved this book. It is going on my want to reread list. It was sitting in my TBR for so long, but with Halloween this week, it felt fitting. I'm so mad that I let this sit unread for that long. If you ever wanted a more than slightly mad dom ghost story, this is the book for you. I have so many snippets saved ready to post on the Thirsty Thursday thread on r/romancebooks.

It's cute and thought-provoking. Definitely some good lessons to keep yourself in the right mindset.

I'm hooked. I need the next book now, but I will find some patience and wait it out. This book series is so well written, the world is well developed, the characters are well developed, the romance is well developed, and the spice adds to the plot. I had to stay up to finish this book. There is suspense, a plot twist with every page turn. The only breaks are really for spice, but I'm not going to set the book down for those either. So I got happily stuck reading this book until it was finished.
Spoiler discussion for those who have finished this book:
In the end, Tati explained that the Faes' eternal resting place is not in the ground and the requirement of a whole human sacrifice. The whole human part threw me off because, isn't Sabine only half human? And then the part about their resting place being different. If Thracia's resting place is inside Sabine, and they had to kill her human part to call Thracia forward....I'm going to be so mad (but also intrigued). Although, maybe that is what they thought they were doing but instead just awakened the other half of Sabine. Either way or some other twisted way forward, I am so excited for the next book.

I hope there is more to come in this series. I loved this book. It was a stalker romance, but alien fated mates. I did not want the book to end. I loved the characters, the pairing, it had suspense, and spice that added to the plot. It was perfect.
I did have a question as I was reading it. Why was it never discussed what would happen if she was recognized by someone other than the king once Sophia and the king were engaged? I get that as a reader of fated mates, it's fairly obvious that at some point, the king would recognize her. But the characters did not know that.

It's a little too tragic for me. I also thought that the incorporation of a space alien family was a bit of a stretch. But I understand the point in that all their lives have value. The main character, a transgender teen, the cursed violin teacher, the aliens, and the holographic AI type girl all have a purpose, meaning, and add value to their world. I really enjoyed the ending and how Katrina came to love herself and not just accept what was happening to her in life.

I really enjoyed this sci-fi thriller. The pace was good and kept my attention. There were small bits of thrill throughout that kept me on edge. This was a unique take on a common sci-fi theme, and I truly loved the ending. The MC, Beth, had this frantic, chaotic, scientific mess of a mind that made her such a well developed, intriguing character. I'm going to recommend this for my sci-fi book club to read when it's released. I would read this book again.
