Dick Fight Island, Vol. 2 by Reibun Ike

funny lighthearted

This is more of a prequel for the most part than a continuation of volume 1. The first half (or more?) goes back to when Harto meets Matthew on the "outside" and how they begin their "training." It's still a fun, smutty read, but wasn't as good as Volume 1 in my opinion.

Maybe it's just me and not being a manga reader, but I had a hard time remember who was who and by the second half when it was sort of "epilogues" of volume 1 matches, I was more confused than anything. If you can find it and really want more, it's not bad, but I wouldn't say you're missing too much if you just stick to Volume 1.

If you sit down to read this one, just keep in mind what you're reading and have a bit of fun with it. This is nothing but a smutty manga/graphic novel with lots of (all) MM and literal ⚔️ sword-fighting. I don't usually read manga/GNs, but I've been curious about this one since hearing about it in a reading challege a few years ago and finally decided to try it out. The art is great, the story is over the top and silly, but also still pretty hot. Lol.

If the first book in the series ripped your heart out, this one started to help put it back together a little bit. There are more hopeful moments, but we also dredge up memories of the past for all of the characters, which can get a bit intense again. There are also suspenseful moments that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat.

I was very pleased to get some of the answers to questions brought up in book 1, and again, start to feel a bit more hopeful for the future. I can't wait for the third book and the answers that will come with that!

I knew I was going to love Hunter and Greedy when we met them in the Boys of Lake Chapel... but I didn't realize just how much I would love them until I started So Wrong. This was everything I hoped for and more! Levi is the icing on the cake and I LOVE the progress to this point - I can't wait to see more! And then that ending... HOW DARE YOU, ABBY! (j/k, sort of, but seriously...) I am waiting on the edge of my seat for So Real at this point! <3

I love Kennedy and her guys!! Greyson is such a possessive and protective mafia boss who is sweet only for her… and Sebastian, Carter, and Jack are the hot hockey players of your dreams. If you like the Pucking Wrong series but are in your RH/why-choose era, this is the duet for you!! 10/10 would recommend!

Give Me More used to be my favorite Sara Cate book... I think The Home Wrecker just (very slightly) took the lead!

Sara does an amazing job with MMF relationships. There's sweetness but also a bit of angst, bi-awakening, marriage in crisis, (sort-of) cheating, and 🌶️ 🥵 🔥... add in a bit of brothers ex-best friend, smeggs worker & club, and rel1g1ous trauma, and you've got yourself The Home Wrecker.

This can definitely be read as a standalone - I read it before reading The Anti-Hero, because I'm firmly in my why-ch00se era. There are some slight spoilers for things that happen in the first book, but I really wasn't confused at all as to what was going on. Just more curious and it made me want to go back and catch up!

I definitely recommend this (really anything by Sara Cate, honestly)!

If you know me, then there should be no doubt this book was a solid 5 stars from me! Relever had a bit of a different feel, in that it was more of a plot forward book than the others, I think. There was still character development... and oh, what the development it was... but there was also so much happening to further the overall storyline in this one. I loved every moment, even when I had to set my Kindle down for fear of it being thrown against a wall.

This is yet another example of how a book can be written so well that every time you reread it you pick out more details and it never feels old, while at the same time you're not left feeling confused at the end like you were missing pieces throughout. And trust me, it will be revisited often.

And if you were excited with the addition of certain 🌶️ scenes in Sauter, you're going to be 🥵 in this one. Which honestly, you'll need between all the 💔 and 😭.

I'm very much in my omegaverse era these days. This was what I would consider mafia-lite, in that the entire book was not as dark as some mafia can tend to be. (Or maybe I'm just losing all sense of what's dark these days? 😅🫣) But it's not all rainbows and butterflies either. We definitely get our fill of morally grey Alphas, and throw in one fine Beta as well... along with heats, nests, knots, and all of the OV goodness you expect from Sarah. I can't wait to read the rest of the interconnected world - I'm very curious what the overlap characters will be, if any.

Another immediate fave in the series! If you’re new, I highly recommend reading the series in order because the crossover characters and circle of trust are best when you know the whole background. But Walker may just be my favorite of the bunch. He’s got the whole unhinged thing like King Linc going for him, while at the same time having the humor of Ari. I absolutely love them all, but Walker’s tropes are by far my favorite. If you love dark romance and hockey, you absolutely cannot miss this series!!

Did not finish book. Stopped at 7%.
I apparently missed that this was FF, which I don’t generally enjoy.
