This was an interesting read. Kind of reminded me of the book Pineapple Street. At times it felt as if I was on my phone reading something off Instagram. But it was also messy and real and I stayed up to finish it. I was conflicted on the ending and went to look up what other people thought and then stopped myself because I instantly thought of the presence social media had throughout the book and the whole point of it being this overcoming aspect of our lives. So I guess the book surprised me in that way- and how quickly I put my phone down.

I am really glad I read this. I think this should be required reading. I have a lot more I need to read, but this is a great place for anyone to start.

This was cute. Would recommend if you enjoyed reading The boy, the mole, the fox, and the Horse. It’s short and sweet, and Trevor Noah is an incredible narrator.

It is exactly what the title states. Which is both good and bad. At times repetitive, it is a nice read- especially when being back from college and getting to cook! Was lovely reading after dinner with recipes and familial anecdotes. But apart from that I wish there was more..

I think this is an important piece of stories that delve into the different ways in which we approach and create art and all its forms. It was beautiful reading about people’s experiences and relationships with art and what it means on an individual but also global scale. My only thing is I wish there was more flow to the stories (even though it is transcribed from interviews) and some I felt were repetitive or contradictory to another. Overall would recommend.

Really beautiful ending, but overall way too long. Would have been a 5 star if it was a good 200pgs shorter. There was also too many characters that were kind of there, but also not that made it hard to follow at times. Overall it was good, if you are looking for a 600pg book that is slow but has good plot twists-check this out. Otherwise, do not.

So glad I read this. I found the material fascinating. Some were stronger pieces than others, but War In Translation was my favorite.
