First let me say, I am an Ashley Poston stan. The writing will always be top tier and I feel confident going into the books that I will enjoy every second of it.
That being said, this book was good but in my opinion it didn’t have as much of the AP*magic* that seven year slip & the dead romantics have.
I had a couple of meh moments throught my read.
I know a lot of people LOVED this book but it was a solid 3 star for me.

Am I able to describe a band of mercs’ bloody adventure as surprisingly wholesome? Probably not but I’m going to. I freaking loved every minute of it. I quite literally laughed out loud. I adore Moog and his quirky wizard self. So much happened but it truly felt like a bard’s story. A chaotic DND game of a book. Loved it.
