A very breezy 3.5 stars.

I'm giving this 2.5-3 stars out of loyalty to the series. Still an enjoyable read but definitely the weakest Ruth Galloway book I've read so far.

3.5 stars! Thoroughly enjoyable, unsurprisingly. Elly is such an engaging writer. a solid addition to the series. On to the next!

I'm wondering what formula I'm using to rate these books. I enjoy Griffiths' writing so I thoroughly enjoy reading this series, so The Ghost Fields is a 3.5 stars from me, even though I can't help feeling the books could be *more*. But at the end of the day, this is book 7 and my interest hasn't waned at all, so there you go.

I think I was confused when I picked up this book to read. I thought it was Gothic horror, something on those lines. Instead, it's a pretty straightforward historical romance with some ghosty bits thrown in. Enjoyable enough in a predictable way so it's a 2.5 from me.
