Good mystery with lots of unexpected twists but honestly too similar to the ramsey case it was kind of eerie and felt a little commodified vibes. I also feel like the main character did not have any development whatsoever - if anything she’s just rewarded for the damaging way she’s acted throughout the whole book. And why are we letting the serial killer have the last voice? It really doesn’t make sense to me. There’s a lot of power in who is given a voice in a text so the decision to give him one right at the end is pretty strange. I also don’t understand the inclusion of Pete’s character. He just randomly likes margot but we don’t even really know why and there’s no resolution to it at all. He’s basically just used as a tool throughout the whole book. The gay plotline was a little random and i wish there was more emphasis on the parallels between krissy losing the potential person she could’ve become and her daughters potential future both being ripped away by the same man but for very different reasons. The book was fine and a fairly enjoyable read but I just don’t think it was the most well written or is really saying much aside from it being a sort of jenbenet fanfic which just really didn’t sit well with me.
