I loved the fantasy and world building aspect of this book and I'm exited to seer where the second part goes in that aspect. The way that the different creatures are presented is kind of predictable
at least for me once you start getting glimpses of how the angels describe the chimera it became clear what roles they were going to play in the story
, but it is still ejoyable and refreshing to see a conflict that goes a bit beyond the "good vs evil" that can appear in YA fantasy.
But I did not enjoy the romance aspect that much. First, Karou, the main character, should be 18 instead of 17 honeslty
I get the whole resurection stuff but still, why would it be necessary for her to be underage?
. And second, it's way too love at first sight cliche for my taste, and it only really makes sense near the end so when it's developing it isn't very intresting.

Me encantó!

This is an absolute cliché, all of it. And I loved it.
I went in with 0 excpectations, wanting to read a lighthearted romance and was suprised that I got so invested in the plot. It isvery predictable but it is well written and has pretty good character development so I didn't really mind.
I would really like to highlight the sex scene, it is explicit, so you can look forward to that. But the scene is so sweet and romantic and steamy at the same time, it also highlights consent (which sadly isn't that common) and it has some details that make it pretty realistic in my opinion.
Also nice LGBTQ+ representation c:
The only thing I would critique is how much the misscomunication drives the plot, it gets a little frustraiting at times, other than that a really enjoyable book

There is something really intresting about setting up a mistry in a fantasy book like this author does in all of the series. In this particular book we get to discover a brand new world with new characters while still seeing some of the characters we know and love from previous books.
This is also true for the narrator, there are so many narrators! One of the first is Giddon and I honeslty didn't expect to like him that much, i always looked forward to his parts. I think his character arc flourishes in this installment and it's quite beautiful to see his sweetness.
As always there is some romance, although it's not the main plot and there are more intresting elements to the book. For exaple Lovisa and her family
specially once everything has unfolded and we can see the inner struggle, the conflict with her own identity and how, eventually, she takes her power back

The only thing I would add is that I hope we can see more LGBTQ+ relationships between the main characters at some point in the future

I quite enjoyed this book, although it's a little slow in the beginning, the last third makes it worth it and the last few pages are very emotional. I'm a little bit frustrated with the ending, not what I would've liked to see but it is beautifully written nonetheless.

It's a really good book but you have to take into acount it's limitations, because it's a stand-alone fantasy it doesn't have the time to fully develop all of the plot points, this also reflects in the love triangle, one of the sides being a lot more intreting in my opinion.
Even though the world building has it's flaws it is generaly very enticing and it paints a really good picture of what's possible in this world.
The set up of the conflict is a bit too fast for my taste when it comes to the conflict it self and it's resolution i think it gets a lot better with the pacing.
In general there is some really good representation and that's very gratly appreciated

The ending was a little bit disappointing because of way too many fake-death scenes, it lost a little bit of it's impact

Y yo interpreto a Cicerbita y Agnès, al final, como un minimini espacio de representación LGBTQ+, si así fuese me gustaría ver más de ello en otros libros ;-;

IT'S AMAZING!
I think it's almost as good as graceling. It's beautiful to be able to encounter some of the same characters you loved on the first book years later and also get to know them once again.
It's a very fast pased book and pretty easy to read, i honestly would recomend it if you are in a readers block.
I would recomend to check out the trigger warnings because there are some really horrific and graphic scenes.
It was also refreshing to see some diversity in the cast, without it being the center of their character development.
