This book was a pick for one of my book clubs. It was a pretty good psychological thriller. A killer is using a list from a bookstore owner of the 8 perfect murder books.
I grew up watching Jaleel in Family Matters. I saw him in other shows growing up. It was really enjoyable to hear his voice on the audiobook about his life. It always surprises me what child actors experience as they navigate the business.
This memoir was a great read/listen. I love when audiobooks are read by the author. Rob did a fantastic job of describing an experience he had with a specific person then sharing who they became that we as readers would know. I didn’t realize all the things or the people he was with. His life is very interesting.
This was a second read for me. My family book club chose it so I did a quick listen on audiobook. I still find this book nice and twisty. I don’t want to give anything away if you haven’t read it.
This book was quite the surprise for me. It was recommended to me by a book club friend (specifically the audiobook). At first I was like. . .WTF am I listening to? It was definitely out of my typical genres. However, the narrator was amazing and it was fun listening to him create the voices for each character. I kept listening and found myself really getting into this story. It was a little like an adult cartoon. It had humor, compassion, bravery and adventure. Really it made for an enjoyable listen. I feel the narrator made the book. Without him I probably wouldn’t have continued this book to the end.
*****I received this as an ARC ebook free from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
This is the second book in this series. I was fortunate enough to also read the first. This continues the story. Branstetter is a fantastic author of Amish romance. She adds mystery, jealousy, and other elements that really make the book fun. In this second book we still don’t know what happened to Ada when she disappeared. Life has been moving on but not all of her family and friends are willing to let it go without answers.
I have read a variety of books in the extreme horror genre. This one fell short for me. It was felt like the author tried to throw everything into this short novella. Perhaps if he had extended the writing to develop the story more I would have rated it higher.
I received this print book free from Goodreads Giveaways. I felt I owed it to the author to read this book. Sadly to sad it was awful! Extremely boring and slow moving. I felt it droned on and on. It was mind numbing.
