Fuck this book honestly. It put me in a reading slump. These characters are so flavourless and all blend together. I loved the vibes and the writing is PHENOMENAL but the ending felt like a completely separate book. (Is that because I stopped reading it for 3 months at 2/3rds of the way through?..maybe. But no.)

It feels almost impossible to rate this memoir. Elliot has a powerful story to tell but I'm not a fan of the execution. Took a very long time to digest this book but I think I could have gotten more from it if the timeline stuck to chronological order.

What a fucking pleasure. Even though it’s dark and horribly sad Jeanette made her story such an experience with every emotion I will never forget ESPECIALLY THE AUDIOBOOK HOLY CRAP!

No… I’m so sorry but no. This could have been a great short story. A great idea but the author could not make it any deeper than just a great idea. It was so damn repetitive and I would have maybe loved this when I was 14.

Even as a gamer and haver of platonic male friends I just did not connect at all with the characters or story here. The writing is great but at times felt soap opera-y dramatic.
