If you are going to include a character with a chronic illness in your novel, you should perhaps properly research said chronic illness. With type 1 diabetes, the pancreas doesn't produce insulin, which means we need it when we eat carbs and to prevent (or treat) high blood sugar (HYPERglycemia). Under no circumstances should someone who has hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) be given insulin! That's diabetes 101!!! Yet this is something that happens in this novel. How no one fact-checked this is pretty embarrassing.

Other than that, there were some great ingredients here and the recipe had everything to make me love this, but the mystery, the characters, and the writing itself were very disappointing.
