This was my favorite of the series, a close beating out to book one with Bea and Jamie. I loved this and was pleasantly surprised - I think the retellings can come across as not super relateable but Chloe does it so well. I wish there was more Scotland though I have to admit!

Will and Juliette were so wonderful together - seeing them date and slowly fall in love. Their patience with each other. Plus the tie ins with She's the Man (what's your favorite cheese) just made me SQUEAL. I had a lot of fun with this book.

What a wonderful wrap up to the Greene sisters. I have loved each book more than the last and have been waiting for Iris and Angel's book since book 1. What I loved about The Love Lyric is how Iris realized what she wanted, not because Angel pushed her there but because she began to realize her priorities had shifted. Because of Angel, her family, and Calla. And Angel's storyline was so deep and sad but also realistic. It was beautiful to see Iris and Angel stand up for each other, be there to help the other person be their best selves. I loved this series so much.

This was my first Danzy Senna and it won't be my last. She loves to write messy biracials and I love to read messy biracials! This book was tough to read, not because it's not a good book but because it is tough content.

I will think about this book for a long time. Honestly, I enjoyed Sage and Fisher but knew Wren and Ellis were gonna break me. Anytime a marriage falls apart, or is close to falling apart, I am riveted. Because that is real life! And in real life marriage is hard. I loved that it wasn't one thing that broke them up: it was a list of things they didn't talk about, circumstances they dealt with themselves without the support of their partner, resentments they held. It was really beautiful to see Wren and Ellis come back together and I will probably want to re-read this book every year.

This book blew me away. Full stop. It is hot, deep, so complex. I focus on trauma and mental health. On how our parents mess us up but also put us back together. How you can find someone who is so perfect for you, who helps you grow, who centers you and your needs. I usually dislike college and NA but Ali just did a wonderful job of crafting a story that was realistic and so complex.

Truly one of the best books of the year. I am so overwhelmed by how amazing this book was. I finished it at the end of the year and am still thinking about the genius that it took to write this book. Re-work and re-tell a story that is so deep in the American cultural lexicon and do it so interestingly. This book blew my mind.
