House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig

I’m going to give this 3.5/5. I had a hard time getting into this book. For like the first 3/4 of it really. There were good parts but i don’t know what it was but I just wasn’t pulled in. Perhaps it was too hyped and I was expecting a lot more creepiness. But the last hundred pages or so picked up pretty good & I wasn’t surprised by the twist. I didn’t know how it would go at all. I enjoyed the ending also. I feel like it ended so well with the last hundred pages being really good that I can forget struggling with the first part. I think if it wasn’t overly hyped or expressed that it was super creepy, I would have enjoyed it more.
Regretting You by Colleen Hoover

I feel like this book just ripped my heart out and stomped on it. I’ll be completely honest, this wasn’t my favorite CoHo book. I’m sure I’ll get flack. Whatever. Be honest, You can’t love everything someone produces. There was a good portion of the book that I just felt dragged on. Like can people ever communicate? I guess it was an honest portrayal of what happens when tragedy strikes but also it’s hard as a reader knowing more than some characters, because you’re like JC stop. I was annoyed in the middle. I just wanted to bypass the middle. It was depressing and frustrating. And the mother daughter relationship makes me not want to go through the teenage years with my daughter at all. I was expecting more of a romance but it just felt like a lot of turmoil. If you’re into having you’re emotions go through a car wreck, a train wreck and then crashing the plane down.. here you go. I rated it 4 stars. I read it quickly. Any book that can make me super emotional deserves an extra star. It was good. I liked it but I’m angry about it and idk why. It’s still fresh so don’t hold my emotions against me.

Man that was a fast read! I couldn’t stop turning the pages and I wanted to know more! I had zero expectations going in but it was exciting & twisted. Right until the bitter end!
